November 24, 2010 - Santa's gift shop

From 5-8 p.m., Dec. 2 the Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 S. State Road, Goodrich, will host a Santa's gift shop. Vendors and crafters will have gift items, gift wrapping, kids make your own Christmas gifts at "The Kids Kraft Korner," chili dinner and bake sale. Free admission. Vendors/crafters wanted. Candlelight service

At 6 p.m., Dec. 12, Hillside Bible Church, 173 N. Church St., Ortonville will host a candlelight service for those coping with a loss this holiday season. Details: 248-627-2513.

Casino/Brenda Lee

At 10 a.m., Dec. 13 a trip to Soaring Eagle Casino/Brenda Lee trip will leave the Edna Burton Center cost $30 per person (this includes the driver tip & Brenda Lee tickets) receive $25 back from casino. Details: 248-627-6447 or Faye at 248-627-6041.

Christmas Memories

At 6 p.m., Dec. 5, Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 S. State Road will host Christmas Memories, with the music of Ron Elrod and Grace Baxter. Details: 810-636-2444.

Moms club

The MOMS Club of Ortonville, servicing zip codes 48462 and 48438, holds monthly meetings for stay-at-home moms who would like to connect with other moms in the community. Organized playgroups, kids' adventure days and mom's nights out. Details: 810-869-5930. Website: ortonvillemomsclub.webs.com.

Dodgeball

The free community gym and dodgeball tournaments at the Victory World Outreach Church are moved to every first and third Saturday from 7-10 p.m. During this event kids can play basketball, dodgeball, foosball, table tennis and board games. It is $1 to enter the dodgeball tournament, which includes the divisions sixth grade and under and seventh grade and up, and the winning team in both division takes home the entrance money. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There will be free food and pop sold for $1. Volunteers and chaperones are needed and appreciated, as well as any food donations.
