From 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 17, 18 and 23, The Point, 9430 Perry Road, will host a drive-thru nativity scene. This event will let drivers and passengers listen to the classic Christmas story, while seeing it played out. Free for all those interested in experiencing the Christmas story.
Genesys Hospice bake sale
A bakes sale will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Dec. 17 at the Genesys Hospice Care Center, 7280 S. State Road, Goodrich. The sale features Christmas cookies; homemade pies, cakes, cupcakes, bread and fudge; specialty gifts such as homemade dog treats; craft-like goodies for holiday gift-giving and more.
Proceeds from the bake sale will go toward patient comfort needs at Genesys Hospice Care Center as well as beautification of the facility.
More than 200 Genesys Hospice volunteers are involved in this fundraising endeavor. Details: 810-636-5000.

From 6:30-7:45 p.m., Dec. 22 the Hillside Bible Church, 173 Church St., Ortonville will host a pregnancy loss support group. The facilitator will be Rhonda Tomei MA, LPC. Please come and receive understanding and comfort. The group will be meeting on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
The Brandon latchkey program is enrolling for the current school year. The program offers care between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Daily activities and crafts are offered, as well as family discounts. Details: 248-627-1859

The free community gym and dodgeball tournaments at the Victory World Outreach church are moved to every first and third Saturday from 7-10 p.m. During this event kids can play basketball, dodgeball, foosball, table tennis and board games. It is $1 to enter the dodgeball tournament, which includes the divisions sixth grade and under and seventh grade and up, and the winning team in both division takes home the entrance money. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There will be free food and pop sold for $1. Volunteers and chaperones are needed and appreciated, as well as any food donations.
VFW Ladies Auxiliary
If your son or daughter, husband or wife, mother or father or grandfather or grandmother served in any branch of the armed services in a foreign country you may join the Sherman-Wudarcki-Sutton VFW 582 Ladies Auxiliary. Meetings are from 7:30-9:15 p.m., the third Tuesday of each month. The purpose is to provide assistance to local veterans and fund Michigan children of deceased veterans. On Saturdays Bryan Ray, the Brandon Boys Varsity Basketball coach and his players will host a basketball camp for kindergartners through sixth graders (boys and girls). The cost of the 11-week program is $110, but any new registrations will be pro-rated because the camp is already underway.
