December 15, 2010 - The Dragons soundly defeating the Stoney Creek Cougars, 8-3. Justin McKelvey started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first, picking up his own rebound and stuffing it in the back of the net.

The second period brought a barrage of goals from both teams with Jesse Cameron scoring a hat trick and Corbin Rainey netting his first goal after returning from the football team. Stoney Creek also scored three that period, leaving the game at 5-3 after two periods.

The Dragons finished the third period with two goals from Daniel Chapie and a goal from Brett Reed.

The shot count for the game was 53 - 13 for the green and white.

The boys in green took on Birmingham United, Saturday, Dec. 11, ultimately being passed up in the third period and narrowly losing 5-4.

The team got off to a one goal lead after a period on a Zach Koonce goal, with assists coming from Nick Balavich and Andrew Vanek.

In the second period a number of penalties killed the momentum for the team and Birmingham capitalized by scoring three. Koonce scored another goal assisted by Balavich to bring the team back to within one.

In the third period the Dragons had a great deal of momentum after a pass behind the net from Reed found Brent Cotter who beat the goalie short side. Birmingham answered twice to bring the lead back to two goals.

Reed took a pass from Chappie and brought the team within one. The Dragons had a number of shots and good scoring chances after this point but could not overcome the Birmingham squad.

The team is off until next Saturday when they take on Troy Athens at the Troy Sports Centre. Please note the game previously scheduled for Dec. 16 has been moved to February in the Michigan Public High School Showcase.
