December 22, 2010 - Time's almost up for Christmas-gift procrastinators. Downtown Clarkston business can help, offering unique gift ideas and personal service.

The Union General, 50 S. Main Street, offers a box of festively packaged cupcakes for a charming holiday hostess gift, said Ann Stevenson, owner.

Flavors of the season include: chocolate with rum egg nog icing, gingerbread with cinnamon buttercream and red velvet with cream cheese icing.

"The Thymes legendary Frazier Fir candles, diffusers, soaps and lotions always add to the spirit of the season by appealing to our most indulgent sides," Stevenson said. "They're perfect and practical, yet pampering gifts."

Essence on Main, 4 S. Main Street, offers a basketful of Michigan to give as a gift.

"We'll put together a gift basket for you filled with Michigan-made products," said Theodora Morgan, owner. "We have a wide variety of items available in the store including Clarkston's own Chocolate Moose, Great Lakes Coffee Roasters and Spirit cards by Marilyn.
