February 02, 2011 - Coffee Hour

At 9 a.m., Feb. 25, The Citizen, 12 South St., will host a coffee hour. The public is invited to attend and enjoy treats and conversation. Donations for OCEF will be accepted. Details: 248-627-4332.

Muzzarelli fire relief fund

On Feb. 1, friend and long-time All Sports Brandon Booster Gina Muzzarelli and her family lost their home, including all of its contents, to fire.

Gina has volunteered countless hours to help the boosters reach their goals and is a constant figure helping students and staff at Brandon High School. A relief fund account has been established at Oxford Bank, Ortonville to help assist the family with an initial donation of $500 from the boosters. Anyone who would like to contribute may do so in person at Oxford Bank or by mail to P.O. Box 163, Ortonville, MI 48462. All checks should be made out to All Sports Brandon Boosters and Muzzarelli Family must be noted in the memo section. We will collect funds until Feb. 14 at which time we will present the family with the funds collected.Details:

Old Brandon Township Hall

From 7 to 8:30 p.m., Feb. 8, the history of the Old Brandon Township Hall will be discussed by Preservationist William Powers and Oakland County Preservation Architect Ron Campbell. The two will present findings on the current condition of the building and a breif overview of future preservation recommendations. No registration is necessary.

Pom pon clinic

From 6-8 p.m., Feb. 17, the Brandon Pom Pon team will host a pom pon clinic in the Brandon High School cafeteria, 1025 S. Ortonville Road. Girls ages 4-14 are eligible to register and learn a routine that wil be performed at the Brandon JV basketball game on Feb. 22. The cost is $25 for early registration by Feb. 11 and $30 at the door, which includes a performance t-shirt. Girls should wear comfortable clothes with dance or tennis shoes. Bring a snack and water. Registration for new kindergarten and developmental kindergarten students for Goodrich Area Schools will be held from March 28 through April 1 at Reid Elementary, 7501 Seneca St., Goodrich. Round-up nights, for kindergarten students only, will be May 3 and May 5. Children who are 5-years-old on or before Dec. 1, 2010 and live in the Goodrich Area School District are eligible for registration. Euchre at Cranberries

At 4 p.m., Feb. 13, Cranberries Café, 10250 Hegel Road, Goodrich will host a euchre tournament FUNdraiser for the Class of 2014. Cash bar and 50/50 raffles also available. Must be 21 years of age to participate. Proceeds to benefit the class upcoming events. Tickets available at Goodrich High School and Cranberries Café.
