The 2011 March Board of Review

will meet at the Brandon Township Offices on

Wednesday March 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, March 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

If you wish to appear in person to present your valuation appeal, it is required that you have an appointment with the March Board of Review. An appointment can be made by calling 248-627-4918 or 248-627-2720 during regular business hours.

A resident and non-resident may present a written appeal to the Board of Review by mail. Written appeals must be received by March 17th, 2011. All appeals must include a completed and signed "Petition to the Board of Review" (Form L-4035). This form is available online at: www.michigan.gov/documents/l4035f_2658_7.pdf and it is also available at the Supervisor's Office within the Township Hall. The form should be mailed to the Brandon Township Assessing Department, P.O. Box 929, Ortonville, MI 48462. Written appeals must be received prior to the close of March Board of Review and documentation supporting your opinion of value should be attached to the petition.

Poverty Exemption Applications are available in the Supervisor's Office. You must show proof of all household income by providing current signed copies of your Federal and State income tax returns and copies of any other information to prove financial need. Failure to provide this information or an incomplete/unsigned application will result in a denial of the poverty appeal.

The year 2011 tentative equalization ratios and multipliers are:

Class Ratio Multiplier

Agricultural 54.43% 0.91860

Commercial 55.02% 0.90880

Industrial 56.54% 0.88430

Residential 54.45% 0.91830

Please note that taxes are levied against the Taxable Value.
