March 23, 2011 - Everest Collegiate High School presents "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat" by Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m., April 1; 2 p.m. matinee and 6:30 p.m. Dinner Theater on April 2; and 2 p.m., April 3.

"Joseph is an energetic show with something for everyone," said Aileen Cronin, director. "It is the retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph, the handsome young man who is his father's favorite child, able to interpret dreams, and the bearer of an amazing coat."

This leads to jealousy amongst his 11 brothers, and they sell Joseph into slavery. His ability to read dreams makes him popular, however, and he becomes the second most powerful man in Egypt.

"It's a family-friendly storyline, with universal themes and catchy musical retelling of the Bible story," Cronin said. "This cornucopia of musical styles, from country western and calypso to bubble gum pop and rock'n'roll renders this Old Testament tale both timely and timeless."
