BHS Hall of Fame

Nominations are currently being sought for the Brandon High School Hall of Fame. If you know of any former student who graduated from BHS 10 years ago or more, and has made exemplary contributions in their field of work, please nominate them.

Nomination forms are available at BHS, and should be returned to the Brandon High School Pride Selection Committee, 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, MI 48462 by May 2. Details: 248-627-1822.

Youth Recognition

Brandon Groveland Youth Assistance (BGYA) is currently planning for the 24nd Annual Youth Recognition event which will be held at the Brandon High School cafeteria April 28. BGYA is currently seeking nominations of young people to be recognized for making positive, volunteer contributions to their communities. Nomination forms are available at the Brandon Township Public Library or at the BGYA office located at the H. T. Burt Lifelong Learning Center, 209 Varsity Dr. Nomination forms must be submitted to Brandon/Groveland Youth Assistance before March 28 to be considered. Details: Fran Hotchkiss, 248-627-1462.

All-night party

The Brandon High School Class of 2011 will host "Moonlight Nine Pin No-Tap Bowling Fundraiser" at 9:30 p.m., April 15, at Cherry Hill Lanes North, 6697 Dixie Highway, Clarkston.Tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door and the price includes three games of bowling, and pizza and pop. Proceeds benefit the All-Night Senior Party.

Chamber scholarships

Through March 30, the Ortonville Chamber of Commerce will accept scholarship applications. The five $500 scholarships are for Brandon High School students along with other local students.

The scholarship recipients will be announced April 15. Pick up an application from Amerifirst Mortgage Corp., 252 Ortonville Road.
