June 08, 2011 - Jennifer Brothers graduated from Michigan State University with honors on May 7, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in human development and family studies.

The 2007 Goodrich High School graduate will further her education in the fall at MSU in the master's of social work program. She is the daughter of Bill and Donna Brothers of Goodrich.

Kalyn Lee Justice has been named to the dean's list for the 2011 winter semester at Grand Valley State University.

The 2010 Brandon High School graduate is the daughter of Don and Lynn Justice of Ortonville.

Mark A. McElrath graduated April 30 from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with a bachelor of arts degree in history from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts, and a secondary education certificate in history and political science. He is the son of Alan and Trisha McElrath of Goodrich.

Benjamin Pate of Ortonville, class of 2011, was honored at the Trinity College Chapel's 61st annual honors day ceremony last month. During the ceremony, nearly 230 people were cited for scholarly and community-oriented achievements during their years at Trinity.

Pate won the second prize of the F.A. Brown Prizes. Founded by Martha W. Brown in memory of her husband, the prizes are awarded to students who deliver the best orations.

Founded in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1823, Trinity College (www.trincoll.edu) is an independent, nonsectarian liberal arts college with over 2,200 students from 45 states and 47 countries. Faculty and alumni include recipients of the Pulitzer Prize, the MacArthur award, Guggenheims, Rockefellers and other national academic awards. Trinity students integrate meaningful academic and leadership experience at all levels on the college's celebrated campus in Hartford, and in communities all over the world.

Sean J. Stringer graduated May 26 from New York University College of Dentistry as the valedictorian of his class.

Stringer and his wife, Chelsea, will move from New York to Colorado Springs, where he will be stationed at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He is the son of Colleen and the late Ken Stringer of Goodrich.
