Crash sends 3 to hospital

June 15, 2011 - Three people were hospitalized following a multi-car accident on Friday, June 10 along Lakeville Rd.

Oakland County Sheriff deputies from Oakland Twp. responded to the scene of a three car accident at Lake George and Lakeville Rd. around 2 p.m.

Deputies from Addison Twp. were tied up with a previous incident.

According to reports, a female White Lake Twp. resident, 52, was traveling north along Lake George Rd. in a 1998 Chevy Pickup when she failed to stop at the intersection of Lake George and Lakeville, causing a 2009 Yukon, driven by a 57-year-old female Addison Township resident traveling west on Lakeville Rd. to strike the pickup on the passenger side.

After striking the pickup, the driver veered to the right and struck a 2008 Suburban, driven by a female from Rochester, 69, who was heading south along Lake George Rd. and stopped at the stop sign. Airbags were deployed in all three vehicles.

The female driver of the pickup, along with the driver and 60-year-old male passenger of the Yukon, also from Addison Twp., were taken to POH in Oxford for observation by the Addison Township Fire Department.

The two Addison Twp. residents were released from the hospital, but the status of the White Lake Twp. resident was not known at this time. Alcohol does not appear to be a determining factor. A citation for failure to yield was issued to the White Lake Twp. resident. Staff Writer Andrew Moser
