Village of Lake Orion

Board of Zoning Appeals

A Regular Meeting of the Village of Lake Orion Board of Zoning Appeals will be held on THURSDAY, JULY 7, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Lake Orion Village Hall, 37 E. Flint St., Lake Orion, MI 48362.

The following application for Zoning Ordinance variances will be considered:

Case No. A-11-04

Property Address: 378 S. Broadway (M-24) – Sunoco

(Koza/Orion Food Stop, Inc.)

Proposal: The proposal is to construct a 1,141 sq. ft. expansion (2 additions) to include a Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins store, remodel the interior and exterior of the existing building and make numerous site modifications. This proposal will require the following three (3) variances from the Zoning Ordinance:

1. Front (Street) Yard Setback 10.00 ft. required

2.00 ft. existing (to building)

0.00 ft. proposed (to awning)

10.00 ft. variance requested

2. To permit greater nonconformity with respect to dimensional restrictions.

3. Maximum Signage Permitted 100.00 sq. ft. permitted

150.68 sq. ft. proposed*

50.68 sq. ft. variance requested

*includes – 75 sq. ft. pole sign, 23 sq. ft. wall sign (north façade), (2) 26.34 sq. ft. wall signs (east and north facades). – Note: Canopy Sign to be removed.
