The Charter Township of Orion Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Orion Township Hall, 2525 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, Michigan 48360, on the following matter:

AB-2011-19, Michael's Arts & Crafts Store, 4824 S. Baldwin Road (Baldwin Commons Shopping Center), Sidwell #09-32-351-014

The Petitioner is requesting a one-year temporary use permit, per Zoning Ordinance No. 78, Section 30.11, F, to allow merchandise to be displayed on the sidewalk along the front of the building.

You may send correspondence regarding this case to the Orion Township Hall, addressed to the Zoning Board of Appeals, or you may attend the public hearing to express your views and/or concerns.

A complete copy of the proposed ZBA application is on file in the Building Department Office and may be examined during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, until the date of the public hearing.

Interpretation of Zoning Ordinance No. 78, Article XXVII, Section 27.04,C,2,c, and Section 27.02,A,4, to determine whether the rear and side yard setbacks detailed in Section 27.02 apply to Section 27.04,C,2,c.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

AB-2011-18, James and Julie Bays, 770 Joslyn Road, Sidwell #09-09-401-007

The Petitioner is seeking three variances from Zoning Ordinance No. 78:

1. Article VI, Section 6.07, Single-Family Residential-2 (R-2) Zoning District, Side Yard Minimum Lot Setback and Article XXVII, Section 27.02, A, 4 Requesting a 4-foot 8-inch side yard setback variance from the required 10-foot side yard setback for a shed (existing) that is 5 feet 4 inches from the side property line (north side).

2. Article XXVII, Section 27.02, A, 4 Requesting a 7-foot 7-inch rear yard setback variance from the required 10-foot rear yard setback for a shed (existing) that is 2 feet 5 inches from the rear property line (west side).

3. Article VI, Section 6.07, Zoning R-2, Side Yard Minimum Lot Setback and Article XXVII, Section 27.02, A, 4 Requesting a 5-foot side yard setback variance, from the required 10-foot side yard setback, to store a recreational vehicle 5 feet from the side property line (north side).
