July 20, 2011 - Coffee hour

At 9 a.m., July 29, The Citizen, 12 South St., will host a coffee hour. The public is invited to attend and enjoy treats and conversation. Donations for OCEF will be accepted. Details: 248-627-4332.

Farmers Market

From 3-7 p.m. Thursdays the Goodrich Farm Market will be open in the Goodrich Commons Park. Vendors should call 810-636-2570.

St. Anne golf

At 9 a.m., Aug. 27, the St. Anne Charity Golf Outing will be hosted at the Hadley Acres Golf & Country Club. The public is welcome and proceeds go to local area charities. The outing is a two-person scramble. Cost is $75 per person and includes golf and cart, snack at the turn, a steak lunch after, door prizes and more. Details: Tim Zajaros at 248-763-2052. This event is sponsored by the St.Anne's Knights of Columbus Council.

Bull vs. cow

From 5-8 p.m., July 29, near the south end of Goodrich, the BullRing Sports Grille will challenge Moo Cow Ice Cream to a variety of competitions. Voting is that evening, by dropping donations at either or both of the businesses. The winner of the evening is the business that raises the most cash. Donation to Goodrich Varsity Football and Goodrich Girls Basketball teams.

Cup cancelled

The Challenge Cup Golf outing was canceled due to lack of participants. Hole sponsor money was refunded and door prizes are being returned as well. Candee Allen, 248-627-4640.

Windsor Casino

At 9:30 a.m., July 26, the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St., will host a trip to the Windsor Casino. The bus returns at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $25 per person with $20 returned from the casino. Details: 248-627-6447.

Reusable products

The Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St., Ortonville, will host an on-going fundraiser to collect reusable products. Products include cookie packages; spread containers; ink cartridges; old cell phones; cheese wrappers; Solo cups; Zip-Loc type bags/containers; paper products; plastic wrappers; candy wrappers/packages; yogurt containers; chipbags; computer parts; batteries; personal care; beauty supplies. Items can be dropped off at the senior center by piece or boxful. Arrangements can be made to pick the products up at your home. Details: 248-627-6447.

Travel softball tryouts

From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Aug. 21, Michigan Hawks Travel Softball will be having tryouts for next year's teams. 10U and 12U teams will tryout from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. 14U and 16U will tryout from 11 a.m.-1 a.m. There will be a $5 tryout fee. Details: Scott Salter, 248-925-7768.

Chamber picnic

From noon to 3 p.m., Aug. 20, Brandon Township Park, 1414 Hadley Road, Ortonville, will host a chamber picnic. Lunch is served at 1 p.m. The picnic includes games, special entertainment for kids, and door prizes. Admission is free. Please RSVP by Aug. 5. Details: Ortonville Chamber, 248-627-8079.
