Brandon Township will hold a PUBLIC HEARING meeting on September 19, 2011 within their Regular Scheduled Meeting at 7:30p.m. At the Township Offices, 395 Mill St., Ortonville, Mi. 48462. - Mailing: PO Box 929, Ortonville, Mi. 48462

FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING PUBLIC COMMENT ON APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT ROLL OF THE PROPOSED ESTABLISHMENT OF A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING TREATMENT FOR NUISANCE AQUATIC VEGETATION AND/OR ALGAE AS PERMITTED BY THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT ON UPPER BUSHMAN LAKE AND FOR THE HEARING OF ANY OBJECTIONS TO THE PLAN AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF UPPER BUSHMAN SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT #2.

The District within which the foregoing road services are proposed and within which the cost thereof is proposed to be assessed consists of the lands fronting Upper Bushman Lake and are specifically identified by the following permanent parcel numbers:

The plans, cost estimates and a map of the proposed district are on file with the Clerk of Brandon Township for public examination, along with a description of the proposed Special Assessment District. Redeterminations of costs for the project may be made without further notice to record owners or parties in interest in the property. At such hearing, the Board will consider any written objections to any of the foregoing matters which might be filed with said Board, at or prior to the time of said hearing as well as any revisions, corrections, amendments, or changes to said Petitions, Estimates and Costs or to said Special Assessment District. Anyone wishing to object to the Assessment Roll and preserve their right to appeal to the Michigan Tax Tribunal must attend the hearing or file their objection in writing with the Clerk's office before the end of the hearing. An owner or party in interest, or his or her agent may appear in person at the hearing to protest the special assessment, or shall be permitted to file his or her appearance or protest by letter and his or her personal appearance shall not be required. This meeting is open to all members of the public under Michigan's Open Meetings Act.
