OHS flagpole dedicated to veterans

August 31, 2011 - Prior to the big Wildcats/Dragons football game Aug. 26, a brand new flagpole and American flag were dedicated to all the brave men and women in Oxford who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
In front of the pole is a giant boulder, donated by American Aggregates/Edward C. Levy Co., bearing a plaque featuring a quote from President Ronald Reagan regarding the fragile nature of freedom.
Dressed in their various uniforms, a number of local veterans participated in the ceremony. – Editor C.J. Carnacchio
