August 31, 2011 - Coffee hour

At 9 a.m., Sept. 30, The Citizen, 12 South St., will host a coffee hour. The public is invited to attend and enjoy treats and conversation. Donations for OCEF will be accepted. Details: 248-627-4332.

Office closed

The Citizen office, 12 South St. Ortonville, will be closed on Monday Sept. 5 to observe Labor Day. The office will reopen at 9 a.m., Sept. 6.

Beef pastie sale

From 1- 4 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 10, the Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 S. State Road., will hold a beef pastie sale Pre-order Sept. 8 call 810-636-2444 or 810- 444-1194.

Breakfast

From 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Sept. 10, the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St., will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast including scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, hash browns, and beverage. Cost $8 per person and $5 children 8 and under. Details: 248-627-6447.

Cardiovascular disease

At 3:30 p.m., Sept. 10, St. Anne Church, 825 S. Ortonville Road, will host a presentation on cardiovascular disease with Lorrie Booth, RN,BS as part of the requirements for a master of science degree in Nursing and Healthcare Education. Details: 248-572-4095.

Dance team golf

At 8:30 a.m., Sept. 24, the Goodrich High School Varsity Dance team will host a golf scramble at the Goodrich Country Club, 10080 Hegel Road. Cost is $60/golfer ($40/golfer if a GCC member) and includes golf cart, hot dog at the turn, Mexican Buffet, and door prize. There are cash prize payouts contingent on the number of teams. Other opportunities include 50/50, prize raffles, and skins.
