September 14, 2011 - Brandon Homecoming

At 5:30 p.m., Sept. 30, the annual Brandon Homecoming parade will begin in downtown Ortonville at the corner of Cedar and Ball streets and end at the Varsity football field, where the game will start at 7 p.m. For details, please contact Emily Dressler at 248-627-1820, extension 1232.

Equestrian fundraiser

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 8, at the Ortonville Old Town Hall, 486 Mill St., there will be a scrapbooking fundraiser for the Brandon High School Equestrian Team. The team will be available to carry all supplies to and from the hall. The cost to participate is $25. Details, Rhonda Tomei at 248-431-7918.

'Miracle On Main Street'

At 12:30 p.m., Sept. 25, the Lakeview Church, 10023 S. State Road, Goodrich, will have open auditions for the Kids' Christmas Musical "Miracle On Main Street" in December. Children from Kindergarten through sixth grade in the community that love drama and music and enjoy being part of a group effort are invited to audition. Details: 810-636-7541.

Divorce recovery

From 7 -9 p.m. on Wednesdays Oct. 5-Nov. 9, a free Divorce Recovery Workshop for men and women of all ages, and all faiths, offers healing and support in dealing with the painful issues of divorce, while promoting recovery and healing at St. Anne Church, 825 Ortonville Road. Coffee hour

At 9 a.m., Sept. 30, The Citizen, 12 South St., will host a coffee hour. The public is invited to attend and enjoy treats and conversation. Donations for OCEF will be accepted. Details: 248-627-4332.

Goodrich Homecoming

At 5 p.m., Sep. 30, Goodrich Homecoming will begin with a parade in downtown Goodrich, followed by the Al Martus Gymnasium dedication at the high school gymnasium, and a chili supper from 4 to 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, 8029 S. Glae Road. Beginning at 7 p.m., the Martian football team will face off against Lake Fenton with the crowning of the king and queen at halftime. Canned goods will also be collected during the parade.
