September 28, 2011 - Chamber Business Expo 2011

Good Times in Goodrich

A Good Times in Goodrich 2012 organizational meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Oct. 11, upstairs at the library, 10237 Hegel Road, Goodrich.

Seasoned Readers

Haunted Forest

From 7-11 p.m., Oct. 21, 22, 28, and 29, at Wojo's Greenhouse, 2570 Oakwood Road, Ortonville, the St. Anne Youth Ministry will host the Eighth Annual Haunted Forest. The cost is $10 for adults and $6 for youth. Donations of non-perishable items to benefit OCEF are encouraged. All proceeds support the youth ministry. Details: Kim, 248-627-3965, ext. 132.

Pay hike for substitute bus drivers

The Goodrich School Board voted 7-0 on Monday night to increase the pay of substitute bus drivers.

The district had paid drivers $12.68 per hour since 2006 and will increase the rate to $14.20 this year. District Superintendent John Fazer said the increase keeps Goodrich in line with other districts in the area.

"The increase should attract people to do work as a substitute bus driver," he said. "It's a very exacting job."

Currently the district has 28 bus routes.

Goodrich/Atlas Chamber meeting

At 8 a.m. Oct. 11 (second Tuesday of the month) the Goodrich/Atlas Chamber of Commerce will meet at Cranberries Cafe, 10250 Hegel Road, Goodrich.

Hazardous waste collection

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Oct. 8, Genesee County residents can participate in a Household Hazardous Waste & Electronic Waste Collection Day at Carman-Ainsworth High School, G-1300 N. Linden Road, Flint. Details: Genesee County Recycling Hotline, 810-762-7744.

Craft, bake sale
