Labor Day parade

August 03, 2011

Preparations are underway for Clarkston's Labor Day Parade, 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 5.

Sponsored by the Clarkston Rotary Club, the parade starts on Church Street and marches to Main Street, north through downtown Clarkston to Miller Road.

"Clarkston Rotary is proud of its 71 years of sponsoring the Labor Day parade," said Joel DeLong. "Rotarians enjoy being a part of the community, and being involved in many community service projects and events."

Rotary invites groups, organizations, businesses, musical groups, marching bands, floats, equestrian groups, and children and families on decorated bikes.

Political candidates interested in marching in the Labor Day parade will be asked to make a $50 charitable donation to the Clarkston Rotary Club.

For a parade entry application, visit application can be found under "downloads" in the lower right corner of front page. Contact DeLong at or 248-625-9741, or Al Avery,
