Ordinance Amending Section 46-242 (1) d. 5. of the Accessory Building Ordinance of the Code of Ordinances adopted August 2, 2010
PREAMBLE
THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BRANDON, OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN ORDAINS: that the current code of ordinances Section 46-242 (1) d. 5, Accessory Buildings and Structures be amended, and it is appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Township that the Code be amended accordingly.
Sec. 46-242. Accessory buildings and structures.
Revise section (1) d. 5. to read as follows:
5. The total area of all detached accessory buildings in the RE district shall not exceed the total square footage of the living area of the principle building or 1,200 square feet, whichever is greater. The square footage of finished or unfinished basements shall not be considered when determining accessory building area. The area of detached accessory buildings may be increased by 400 square foot for each acre over 2.5 acres where additional acreage is part of a single lot or parcel.
SEVERABILITY
The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph or part of this Ordinance shall not affect the validity of the remaining parts of this Ordinance.
PUBLICATION
The Clerk for the Charter Township of Brandon shall cause this Ordinance to be published in the manner required by the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, Act 110 of 2006 as amended and MCL 42.22.
EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance shall be effective seven (7) days after publication, August 13, 2011.

Jean McCreery, CMC, Clerk of the Charter Township of Brandon County of Oakland, Michigan, do hereby certify that the foregoing is the complete amendment to the Charter Township of Brandon Zoning Ordinance, and was introduced July 18, 2011, adopted by the Brandon Township Board of Trustees on August 1, 2011 and given publication in the Citizen, a newspaper of general circulation, on August 6, 2011, the following members of the Brandon Township Board of Trustees voted as follows in connection with this resolution to adopt the above amendment. Motion by Beltramo, seconded by McCreery.

NAYS: None
