David Barns fundraiser

On Aug. 7, the Goodrich Country Club will host a fundraiser to support and honor David Barns, who was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of sinus cancer. Golf and dinner are included. There will also be an opportunity to win a 2007 Club Car Precedent 48 Volt Electric golf cart. Golf cart raffle tickets are $50. Tickets for dinner are $20 per person. Brandon coaches needed

Peace of Mind seminar

Starting at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 16, the Brandon Township Public Library, 304 South St., will be hosting a community educational seminar on planning for your final wishes. Mom-2-Mom

From 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 13, the Goodrich Lions Club will host a Mom 2 Mom Sale benefitting Tony Hartwick. Lunch is available as well as a bake sale and 50/50 raffle. Donations of baked goods and auction items are needed. Details: 810-429-0122.
