Coffee Hour

At 9 a.m., Sept. 30, The Citizen, 12 South St., will host a coffee hour . The public is invited to attend and enjoy treats and conversation. Donations for OCEF will be accepted. Details: 248-627-4332.

Corn 'n Brats

From 6-8 p.m., Sept. 9, the Brandon Community Emergency Response Team will host a Corn 'n Brats dinner at the Ortonville United Methodist Church, 93 Church St. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children. Blood pressure and pulse checks will also be available. Details: Betty Stewart: 248-627-3324.

OCEF sale

Beginning at 9 a.m., Sept. 12, donations for the eighth annual sale for OCEF will be accepted at St. Anne Church, 825 Ortonville Road. Gently used items will be accepted. All profits will benefit OCEF. Details: Suzy, 248-620-0176.

Secretary wages

Goodrich-The school board voted 6-0 on Monday night to approve a 5 percent wage concession for the district secretaries. Trustee David Cramer was absent from the meeting.

The group of seven employees will reopen the contract in the 2012-13 school year.

Village study

A comprehensive study by Plant and Moran regarding numerous aspects of the village, including core services, administration, and Department of Public Works has been released to the village council members and will be discussed at 7 p.m., Sept. 12 at the regular village meeting.

The extensive report which cost taxpayers $15,000 will provide a new objective look at the village, said Richard Saroli, village council member.
