December 21, 2011

Brandon Twp.- Tina Chambers will take over as the Brandon Middle School principal in the new year.

The school board unanimously approved hiring Chambers for the position at their Dec. 19 meeting. She will start work at the school on Jan. 3 and will replace Bill Snyder, who is retiring.

"I'm very excited to meet people and start in a new place and have a new beginning," said Chambers. "I look forward to working here in Brandon for a long time. The opportunity to work with staff and make decisions, running a building in a new district— this is something I have wanted to do and I am excited. I am ready to move forward with the education of students in Brandon."

Chambers has worked in the Clarkston School District for the past 16 years, as a teacher, counselor, and for the past four and a half years has been the assistant principal at Sashabaw Middle School. She has a bachelor of science degree from Eastern Michigan University, with a teaching certification in language arts, a master's degree in counseling from Oakland University and also received her education specialist degree from OU. She is married to Eric.
