OCEF meeting

At 6:30 p.m., Jan. 4, the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund group will have a meeting at the Seymour Lake United Methodist Church, 3050 S. Sashabaw Road.

Office closed

Speed limits on gravel roads

At 7 p.m., Jan. 10, at Brandon Middle School, 609 S. Ortonville Road, a town hall meeting will be held about the speed limits on gravel roads, hosted by Sen. Dave Robertson and Rep. Brad Jacobsen. Details: Sen. Robertson, 517-373-1636.

Avalon Hospice needs volunteers

Goodrich, Hadley and Ortonville area hospice patients are looking for friendly people from the area to sit with them, watch movies, read to to them or just listen and share stories of the past or present. Volunteers with special skills such as beauticians, pet therapists or musicians are needed to share their talents and services. Volunteers will also be provided with the necessary training at a convenient location—to ensure the best possible volunteer experience.

Volunteer hours are flexible.
