Sophomore Rachel Alli's double hit against North Farmington ended the game for the Falcons.

Her hit brought in two runs - one to tie the game and one to win the game at the top of the seventh inning 4-3, April 25.

"It was a big hit," said Clarkston Girls Varsity Softball Head Coach Don Peters. "The girls came back in the game with great defense and clutch pitching. We got clutch hitting from Alli."

Senior Tara Perry had two hits in the last game.

The girls beat the Falcons earlier in the night in their double header, 5-3, with an RBI from senior Rachel Pytel off one of her two hits. Junior Sydney Hasselbach and Alli also had two hits.

"It was two great wins," said Peters.

Freshman Madeline Maday was the winning pitcher for both games and had seven strike outs for the night to help boost the girls to an overall record 11-1 and 4-0 in the OAA Red.

The girls opened the week with a win over Goodrich in nine innings, 11-8. Freshman Rachel Vieira had three hits and Rachel Pytel had two hits. Both contributed with three RBIs each during the game.

The wins should help the girls as they go into another tough week, beginning with Lake Orion on Tuesday, a home double-header against Carman-Ainsworth on Thursday and the Michigan Stars/American Cancer Association tournament this weekend.

"Hopefully it makes them feel good about what they are doing," Peters added. "Lake Orion is in our league, and they are always really good. Carman-Ainsworth used to be in the big nine. We have a pretty tough week but we like it tough."

They open the Michigan Stars tournament against Grosse Point North on Saturday.
