Recycling fundraiser

This month the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St.,Ortonville will host an ongoing recycling fundraiser. The center will be collecting cookie packages, candy wrappers, ink jets, dairy containers and much more. The collection is now also taking old pairs of shoes. Details: 248-627-6447.

Blood drive

From 2 to 8 p.m., June 18, Anytime Fitness, 250 N. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, will host a scholarship blood drive. Each donation can save three lives and summer is a crucial time when the American Red Cross is in dire need of blood. Your last donation must have been on or before April 23, 2012. Sewing Club sale

The Ortonville Sewing Club will host a sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 9 at Bueche's Food World, 400 N. Ortonville Road, as a fundraiser to purchase supplies for the Desert Angel packing parties and soldiers serving overseas. The Sewing Club also makes quilts for veterans to be sent to the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. For more information, call Mary Ann Fry, 248-627-5068.

Cereal drop-off

From 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and Sundays the Ortonville United Methodist Church (OUMC), 105 Church St., is collecting cereal to be distributed to families in need in the village for summer breakfasts.
