The Oxford volleyball team ended the season with a couple of losses but can regain some mojo this weekend in anticipation of meeting Lake Orion in state district competition.

The Lady Wildcats will face the Dragons of Lake Orion on November 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Romeo High School in the first round of state play.

Before the districts begin, the Wildcats will travel to Linden on Saturday for a tournament. The Linden tournament begins at 9 a.m.

Coach Kristi McDevitt hopes the Linden tournament serves as a great time of preparation for her team. The lady volleyballers have at times looked unbeatable but would sometimes drift into periods of complacency.

"They can give it a good run if they really want it. They are very capable but they need to prepare and perform. They really want to win and now need to step up."
