Happy pets are cared for pets

by David Fleet

December 12, 2012

Scruffy to Fluffy Pet Salon, located in Pet Supplies "Plus," 22 N. Ortonville Road, Ortonville is owned by Melissa Groeneveld and Jeff Aube and provides a host of grooming services for pets.

Groeneveld was trained at the Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology in Lansing, completing her studies in 2001.

"I love animals," said Groeneveld, 33. "I have three cats and two dogs—I treat every animal as if they were my own. I know that sometime pets may not like going to the groomer, so I get to them fast and get them back home. A happy pet is a cared for pet— matted fur, problems with teeth or paws can be very painful."

"However, at Scruffy to Fluffy Pet Salon, we offer baths, nail clipping, teeth brushing, ear cleaning and full grooming—everything that can keep your pet happy."

Groeneveld said she will accept any breed or size cat or dog.

"Some animals are more prone to infections that's why it's very important to have their ears cleaned," she said. "Also, fleas can be a real problem so stop by for a flea bath and fur clipping.

Groeneveld previously operated the Aussie Pet Mobile of Ortonville and made house calls to groom pets.

Scruffy to Fluffy Pet Salon is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Closed Sunday and Monday.
