Let's go to the casino

The OHS Senior All Night Party 2013 Committee invites everyone to go on a casino bus trip to the Greektown Casino on Saturday, Jan. 26. The cost is $40 and participants get $25 in casino play.

Can't make that date?

There's a second trip scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23. The cost is $40 and participants get $20 in casino play.

For both trips, the bus leaves Oxford High School at 2:30 p.m. and returns at 10 p.m.

Rotarians to welcome 9/11 rescuer Jan. 15

On Tuesday, January 15, the Rotary Club of Oxford is honored to welcome guest speaker Dan Pantaleo.

Pantaleo was a major in the U.S. Marine Corps on Sept. 11, 2001 and was a rescuer at the Pentagon after the attack.

His book, entitled "Four Days at the Pentagon," gives a riveting account of the experiences which occurred after that fateful event. Pantaleo has made it his mission to speak out and ensure that history does not rewrite itself. He has shared his story with high schools, service groups, and with many other groups.

Profits from Pantaleo's book go into a fund to benefit those who were affected by the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

Those interested in attending the Oxford Rotary luncheon meeting are welcome to attend for a lunch fee of $11 per person. The meeting is held at 12 noon at the Oxford Hills Golf & Country Club (300 Drahner Road) in Oxford. To reserve a seat, please contact Nancy Latowski at (248) 969-5004. Class of 1963 reunion

The Oxford High School Class of 1963 is planning its 50th reunion. It will take place on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Oxford Hills Golf and Country Club.

The class will also sponsor a Pontiac Street High School alumni dance and pizza party at Oxford Elementary for the classes of 1961 through 1965 on Oct. 5.

The reunion committee is putting together classmates' mailing addresses, but it's missing a few. Women's Club wine tasting returns Jan. 27

Do you need a break from football Sundays?

The Oxford Women's Club has the answer with its 9th Annual Wine Tasting fund-raiser to be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 at Addison Oaks Banquet Center.

The fund-raiser will include complimentary gourmet hor d'oeuvres, amazing desserts and wines from around the world. Wine consultant for the event will be Dean Rondy, owner of the Oxford Wine & Beverage Co.

Tickets are $30 per person.
