NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Charter Township of Orion Planning Commission and the Charter Township of Orion Board of Trustees will hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 7:05 p.m. in the lower level of the Orion Township Hall, 2525 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, Michigan 48360, on the following matter:
PC-2013-07, Orion Commons Planned Unit Development (PUD), located on the southwest corner of Scripps and Lapeer Roads, 86 acres, Sidwell #09-23-100-001, Suburban Estates (SE) Zoning District. The development is being proposed as a mixed-use project involving four separate and distinct uses: 1)Single-Family Residential-2 (R-2) zoning (approximately 45.60 acres) for 100 detached single-family homes; 2)Multiple-Family Residential-2 (RM-2) zoning (approximately 28.50 acres) for 92 attached duplex ranch style units; 3)General Business-1 (GB-1) zoning (approximately 9.45 acres of the Lapeer Road frontage) for retail; and, 4)Office and Professional-1 (OP-1) zoning (approximately 2.05 acres of the Lapeer Road frontage) and is anticipated to be predominately medical office. The first and second uses will be completed by Pulte Homes. The third and fourth uses will be completed by Kirco and Lormax Stern of West Bloomfield.
If you are not able to attend, you may send correspondence to the Orion Township Hall, addressed to the Planning Commission and/or Board of Trustees to express your concerns and comments. A copy of the proposed planned unit development request is on file in both the Building Department office and the Township Clerk's office and may be examined during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday until the date of the hearing.
Orion Township will provide necessary and reasonable auxiliary aids and services for individuals with disabilities at the public hearing upon advance notice to the Orion Township Clerk, by writing or calling Penny Shults, Clerk, 2525 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, Michigan 48360; (248) 391-0304, ext. 104. Please contact the Clerk's office at least 72 hours in advance of the public hearing.
