Thelma Hearns

Age: 88
Thelma Lucille Hearns (Richards) passed away on January 25, 2016. She was 88.

She was born in Grand Blanc on August 15, 1927, lived in Oxford, retired in Watersmeet and St. Helen, and most recently lived in Attica.

Thelma is survived by her sons Mitchell “Mickey” Cummings, Norman (Meg) Hearns, daughter Cheryl Hearns, and son Kent (Teresa) Hearns, and sister Geraldine “Jerri” Willobee. She is survived by 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She’s preceeded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Arthur Hearns, children Ellen Hearns, James Hearns, Russell “Rusty” Hearns, Kevin Hearns, and Garry Cummings. Also preceeded in death by her parents Theodore (Elizabeth) Richards and Viola (Edward) Brown.

Thelma will be forever remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit and always lending a kind word. Thelma and Art raised their seven children the best way they knew how. They were hardworking followers of the Christian church and led by example. She touched many lives in more ways than she ever knew.

A funeral was held Jan. 29 at the Oxford United Methodist Church.

Interment at the Oxford Township Cemetery.

HAWTHORNE, Jerry W.; of Waterford; February 6, 2016; age 73; husband of Sandy; father of Charlie (Taunya) Hawthorne, Shelley Spencer, Linneya (Russ) Knight, Mark (Mary) Hawthorne, Tammy (Jim) Lohman, Matt (Stella) Hawthorne; “grandpa Jerry” of Cheyenne, Hunter, Luke, Jori, Shana, Joshua, Jaida, Kurt, Heather, Kyle; great grandpa of Everleigh & Psalm; brother of Gail Elenich & Judy Nichols. Jerry retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, motorcycles, classic cars, was an avid pool player and was a naturally talented musician. Raymond Fred Nixon

Raymond Nixon of Ortonville was born July 27, 1922 in Birmingham, Michigan to the late Fred and Jessee (nee: Gould) Nixon. He married the former Margaret Dean on June 24, 1946 in Birmingham, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Margaret Nixon; two children, Chris (Pam) Nixon and Shannon (Terry) Jacobson; three grandchildren, Dan (Beth) Nixon, Mark Nixon and Kyle Jacobson; two great grandchildren, Roy and Della Nixon. Raymond was a graduate of Baldwin High School in Birmingham and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp Ferrying Squadron during WWII. He was the founder of R.F. Nixon Associates and spent many years in Metal Cutting Machinery Sales. He attended Lakeview Community Church 10023 S. State Rd., (M-15) Goodrich where his Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016.
