SUTTON, Robert A.; of Clarkston; August 24, 2014; age 83; husband of Janet for 58 years; father of Amy (Mark) Johnson and Alice (John) Burbank; grandfather of Andrea and Mitchell Johnson, Jack, Violet and Evelyn Burbank; preceded in death by his son Jack. Bob retired from General Motors in 1993 and continued to be actively involved in the automotive community. Lawrence Callahan

Died: Saturday, August 23, 2014
Age: 43
Lawrence “Larry” Callahan; of Lake Orion; passed away on August 23, 2014 at the age of 43. Beloved son of Janice Callahan of Warren, and the late Donald; father of the late Brandon; brother of Theresa (Russell) Axsom, Donald (Theresa) Callahan, Linda (Ed) Davis, Patricia (Mark) Reaume, and James (Lisa) Callahan; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Larry was employed by Pro-Star Services, and he was a member of the Lake Orion Boat Club.

J. “Dick” Molter

Died: Thursday, August 21, 2014
Age: 84
Molter of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Clarkston, died Aug. 14, 2014 at his residence in Florida.

Dick was born May 30, 1930 in Clarkston to the late George and Madeline (nee: Gulick) Molter. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gloria; five children, Debbie (Dan) Bachman, Richard Molter, Karen (Dan) Frushour, Darlene (Bob) Kratt and Danny (Yvette) Molter. Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the Detroit Carpenters Union.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 20 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Ortonville. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. James R. VAN HOOSER

Age: 72
VAN HOOSER, James R. of Davisburg, peacefully passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. Born on June 27, 1942 in Sherman, TX to the late James and Allene Van Hooser. Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife, D’Anne; loving father of Kara and Randall; dear granddad of Talon; brother of Carole June (Emmett), Doris (Mack), Terry (Donna) and the late David (Sue); also will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Jim served in the USMC from 1960-1964. He worked and retired from GM as manager in Industrial Engineering after 35 years of service. After retirement, Jim loved to travel in his RV and visited several countries. He also had a loving passion for classic cars. Funeral Service Thursday August 21, 2014 at 11 am at the Lewis E. DAVID ALLEN McNEVEN

Age: 74
McNEVEN, DAVID ALLEN, age 74, died in Oakland County on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Born May 1, 1940 in Almont, Michigan, he grew up in Romeo, Michigan before settling in Clarkston and Drayton Plains. For nearly 40 years, he was the successful business owner of Coach’s Corner with stores in Clarkston and Waterford, Michigan. David was an avid lover of all sports. He actively played baseball and softball as a pitcher, played platform tennis, and sponsored numerous youth sports leagues. He is survived by his wife Anne, his sister Barbara (Bill) McNeven Lepech, and four nephews and their families. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 5481 Dixie Highway, Waterford, Michigan 48329. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation starting at 10:30AM at the church, and for lunch immediately following Mass. Interment will be held in private at the Romeo Cemetery. Martha Nell Fisher

Died: Saturday, August 16, 2014
Age: 81
Martha Nell Fisher; of Lake Orion; passed peacefully on August 16, 2014, at the age of 81. Born on August 14, 1933, in Golconda, Illinois, Martha moved to Pontiac as a small child when her father found employment as an automotive transport hauler.

Martha graduated from Pontiac Central High School and worked for a local furniture company before dedicating more than ten years of service to the children of Lake Orion Community Schools as a teacher’s aide.

Later, she worked as a finance and service manager for Parkhurst Homes in Oxford. However, more than anything, Martha truly devoted her life to her family.

Married to William L. Fisher Sr. for 61 years, her unwavering commitment was rooted in her deep faith and love. The caring mom of William (Linda) Fisher, Brenda (Bill) Gibson, and Lisa (Darren) Macco; giving grandmother of seven, Jeremy, Kristen, Bill, Jordan, Lindsey, Jason and Stacy; and proud great-grandmother of ten.

Martha always had the right words, gentle reminders and warmest hugs.

A talented mind, kind soul and generous friend will be greatly missed, but her gifts will carry on through all of those that she has touched.

Rest peacefully and know that our world is a better place because of your love.

Family and friends will gather together for visitation and remembrance at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, starting at 10 a.m.

James F. Hafner III

Died: Saturday, August 16, 2014
Age: 24
Hafner, James F. III; of Lake Orion; age 24; passed away August 16, 2014. James is the beloved husband of Janelle nee: Neumeyer; loving father of Jacob; dear son of James (Kris) Hafner Jr. and Deborah (Ray) Schatzberg Lake; dear brother of Christopher Ehmann, Brandon Ponke and Jackie Smyth. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lester Schatzberg, grandmother, Shirley McVittie and his cousin and best friend Allen Smith. James was born on February 17, 1990 in Warren, MI. He was a 2008 graduate of Lake Orion, MI High School and an honor graduate of basic training. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, he was in an Iraq War Veteran and he served in Operation Odyssey Dawn.



Funeral Services with full Military honors will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 at the King of Kings Evangelical Lutheran Church 1715 S. Lapeer Rd., Lake Orion. The family will receive friends at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, 111 E.
