Curtis Richard Gagnon

Age: 39
Gagnon, Curtis Richard; age 39 of Orion; passed away of natural causes on November 23, 2015. He leaves behind his children, Isabella, Oliver and Nina Gagnon. Survived by his fiancée Erin Cosgrove Reed; parents Colleen Gagnon and Richard (Loretta) Gagnon; brothers Benjamin, Chris and Jon (Cheyenne) Gagnon. Curtis graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1994 and went on to become a U.S. Marine. After the Marine Corps, he attended Oakland University where he received his BA in Philosophy. His great love of music was evidenced by his talent as a guitar player and creator of his beloved electronic music. Curtis worked with the youth at Woodside Bible Church for several years and was very loved by the children. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 1, 2015 – 10 a.m. with in-state at 9:30 a.m. at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. The family will receive friends Sunday 3 – 8 p.m. and Monday 2 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Ronald R. LePere

Died: Friday, November 20, 2015
Age: 82
Ronald Roy LePere D.O., 82, formerly of Clarkston, Mich., and Marco Island, Fla., died Nov. 20, 2015, at home in Naples, Fla. He was a physician in Clarkston for 38 years, retiring in 1997.

He was born March 22, 1933, in Gonzales, Texas, and moved to Stockton, Mo., in 1936, where he worked on his family’s farm and graduated from Stockton High School. He attended Central Methodist University, Fayette, Mo., where he played football and was graduated in 1954. He held many jobs to pay for college, including putting out forest fires in Alaska one summer. He earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine and surgery degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery (now known as the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine) in Kansas City, Mo., and completed his residency at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital (now known as McLaren-North Oakland) in Pontiac, Mich., where he later served as chief of staff. He and Alfred S. Hamilton D.O. opened their general medical and surgical practice, the Clarkston Village Clinic, in Clarkston in 1959. Dr. LePere was active in the community, from co-chairing March-of-Dimes fund-raising to serving in the Clarkston Rotary Club, for which he and Dr. Hamilton sometimes worked the shovel brigade, following horses in local parades. Dr. LePere also served as team physician for the Clarkston Chiefs youth football team and the Clarkston High School Wolves football team. As a community teaching faculty member for the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he enjoyed training many medical students and resident physicians; and as a community physician, cared for nursing-home residents and made house calls. In his spare time, he obtained a pilot's license and also enjoyed carpentry, vegetable-gardening, orchid-growing, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Dr. LePere was a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Michigan Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Association, the Florida Osteopathic Medicine Association, and the Oakland County (Mich.) Osteopathic Medical Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Henry LePere D.O. and Lorine Marie (nee Taylor); brother, Roger Dick, who died of whooping cough at age 2; and nephew James Alan Groves.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Peggy Romaine (nee Angaran) LePere; children, Ronald Stephen LePere and his wife Pamela Sue (nee Pauley) of Port St Lucie, Fla., Julie LePere and her husband Christopher Francis Campe (and their daughters Miranda Josephine LePere Campe and Eleanor Rose LePere Campe) of Groveland Township, Mich., Andrew Jon LePere and his wife Michele Marie (nee Vaughan) of Sutton's Bay, Mich.; stepchildren, Dennis Dewayne Cole and his wife Patrice Maureen (nee Harvey) of Waterford, Mich., Debbie Lee Cole of Tallahassee, Fla., and Robin Lynn (nee Cole) and her husband Kelso Huffman of Naples, Fla., (and their children Matthew Mark Denison and Mitchell Davis Huffman). He also is survived by his sister, Jacqueline Marie and her husband James Groves of Naples, Fla., nephew Jack Warren (and wife Rachael) Groves of Hawaii, niece Jill Marie Groves of Marco Island, Fla., and nephew Ronald Bryan (and wife Michelle) Groves of Naples, Fla.; sister-in-law Penny Sue and her husband Denis Dudley of Naples, Fla.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

BLASEY, Sharmon Marie, of Clarkston; formerly of Eastport, Michigan; born August 2, 1930 in Frankfort, MI died November 19, 2015; age 85. EVANS, Carol Marie of Clarkston; unexpectedly November 16, 2015; age 66. Loving Mother of Wendy (Brad) Neideck; proud Nana of Damien (Bailey) Evans, Maya, Zander, and Sierra Neideck. Also survived by long term employee and friend Archie Munson and canine companion Mimi. Preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Doris Smith. Carol was the owner of Smith’s Disposal. She was a generous supporter and contributor for numerous Northern Oakland County Community Activities. Carol worked tirelessly to ensure full service to all of her customers and pickup in a timely manner. She was deeply loved and will be missed by countless friends and customers. Linda Kay Curtis

Died: Monday, November 16, 2015
Age: 70
Linda Kay Curtis, age 70, of Metamora passed away on November 16, 2015. She was born in Goodrich, MI on February 20, 1945 to the late Stanley and LuNette Schlicht.

Linda enjoyed her position as office manager at J & T Electrical Supply Co. for many years. She had a deep love for her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by Richard, her loving husband of 14 years; her daughter, Lynette (Chico) Furneaux; her grandchildren Lauren Furneaux and Michael (Stephanie) Furneaux; her two great grandchildren; her brothers, Gary (Lorraine) Schlicht and David (Carol) Schlicht; sister-in-law Mary Ann Schlicht; also many nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her precious great granddaughter Lily Furneaux in 2010 and her brother Gayle Schlicht.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel. Pastor Bob Service will be officiating. Interment at Mt.
