• Responsible for preventive maintenance, cleaning, and repair of the library facility including plumbing, security, HVAC, building and grounds, and that all work is compliant with applicable codes.

• Responsible to director and supervises 3 part-time employees

• Requires minimum of a high school diploma supplemented with specialized training and certification in HVAC, electrical systems, construction technology or related field

• Five years of building system repair and maintenance, construction, plumbing or HVAC work

• Valid Michigan driver’s license

• Knowledge of current building codes and OSHA requirements

• Knowledge of safe and effective use of cleaning equipment and solutions

• Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical electrical and plumbing problems

• Able to write requests for bids for contracted work

• Able to work cooperatively with vendors, staff, and public

• Able to direct work assignments of staff effectively

• Proximity to library preferred.

Physical Requirements

The ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools, climb ladders, move equipment of moderate to heavy weight, communicate clearly with others on phone or in person.

Hours

Full time (37.5 hours/week currently) with benefits and may include evening or weekend hours. May be called to respond to emergencies during off hours.

Pay Range

$37,000-$49,000
