Mandatory Watering Restrictions

Effective May 1st through September 30th, Orion Township and The Village of Lake Orion are asking their water customers with automated sprinkler systems to follow Mandatory Water Use Restrictions.

Under the Mandatory demand management system, water users are asked to:

Water residential and commercial lawns/landscaping and subdivision common areas between the hours of midnight and 5:00 a.m. Experts recommend that lawns be watered closer to the morning hours so the lawn will have water during the heat of the day. Restrictions are for automatic sprinkler systems, not hoses or sprinklers connected to hoses.

Water lawns and landscaping for properties with odd-numbered addresses on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Water lawns and landscaping for properties with even-numbered addresses on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Restrictions are for automatic sprinkler systems. Customers who do not have an automatic sprinkler system are asked to follow the same schedule for odd / even address and NOT to water between 5:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.

Orion Township and The Village of Lake Orion officials thank residents in advance for their compliance with the Mandatory Water Use Restrictions.
