William E. DeHerder III of Goodrich graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University on May 7 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology and creative writing. While at CMU, he made the deans list for five semesters, was a member of the CMU marching band and was featured in Central Review Literary Magazine. Bill will pursue a masterís degree at Central Michigan University in English-Creative Writing this fall.

The 2007 Goodrich High School graduate is the son of William DeHerder Jr. and Patricia Frisby DeHerder of Goodrich.

Rachel Burley of Ortonville graduated from Michigan State University on May 7 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Arts and Letters. The 2007 Brandon High School graduate will student teach in Mason this fall. She is the daughter of Dave and Dianne Burley.

Christy Robinson a 2010 Brandon High School graduate was one of 28 Alma College students ó 17 freshmen, eight sophomores and three juniors ó awarded the Presidentís Cup. The students earned the honor by achieving the highest academic standing in their respective classes at Alma College.

The tradition of the Presidentís Cup was started in 1968 by Almaís ninth President, Robert D. Swanson. Students earning the honor receive a certificate acknowledging their achievement and have their name inscribed on the appropriate class (freshman, sophomore or junior) Presidentís Cup trophy. The trophies are kept on permanent display in the Reid-Knox Administration Building on campus.

Christy is the daughter of Brian and Cheryl Robinson of Ortonville.

Jonathan Askwig of Goodrich a computer network and system administration major and Daniel Leppek a biomedical engineering major also of Goodrich both were named to the Michigan Technological University Deanís List for the spring 2011 semester. To be included, students must achieve grade point averages of 3.5 or higher.

Erica Iceberg of Ortonville was recently named to the Hope College Deanís List for the second semester of 2010-11. Hope College is a four-year, co-educational, liberal arts college in Holland, Mich with an enrollment of 3,202.
