Coffee hour

At 9 a.m., June 24, The Citizen, 12 South St., will host a coffee hour. The public is invited to attend and enjoy treats and conversation. Donations for OCEF will be accepted. Details: 248-627-4332.

Blood drive

From 2-8 p.m., June 20, the American Red Cross will host a blood drive at Anytime Fitness, 250 N. Ortonville Road (located in Bueche’s Plaza).This is a scholarship blood drive, coordinated by Kevin Loughlin of the BHS class of 2011. Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds and last donation must have been on or before April 25. To schedule an appointment, call Kevin at 248-892-2761.

Community Housing Network

From 6:30 to 8 p.m., June 13, the Ortonville Rotary Club, will host at the Brandon Township Public Library, 304 South St., Ortonville, a representative from the Community Housing Network. A number of issues related to affordable housing for people with disabilities will be discussed. The talk will be held as a part of a community awareness effort to inform patrons about local resources and information. This event is free and open to the public with refreshments provided. A public hearing on the 2011-2012 proposed budget for the Brandon School District has been postponed to 6 p.m., June 27, at the I-TEC Center, 609 Ortonville Road. Following the public budget hearing, at 6:30 p.m., a special Board of Education meeting is planned to approve the budget.

Ride to Remember

Registration is from 10:30-11:45 a.m., July 19 at Brandon Fletcher Intermediate School, 300 South St., Ortonville for the first annual Ride to Remember. The ride is dedicated to the memory of Tony and Karen Taliercio a Goodrich couple who died together in a motorcycle accident on July 9, 2010. Cost is $25 per person.The ride departs at noon. Details:
