Changing station, nursing tent help summer sizzle

July 13, 2011

A much needed service to local families was provided at the recent Orion Township Summer Sizzle event. MOPS sponsored a “Diaper Changing Station and Private Nursing Area” tent.

Moms and dads who stopped by to change their baby’s diaper

were thrilled with the clean changing facility, stocked with wipes, hand

sanitizer and other basic necessities.

“I have attended so many outdoor

functions with my family and dreaded a trip to the port-a-potty to change a

diaper,” says MOPS member Kristi Pavelich, “Our group thought this was a unique way to serve other moms.”

For over 35 years, MOPS groups have helped moms in this vital season of early mothering by creating authentic communities where moms gather to experience encouragement, support and hope. Every mom is welcomed, accepted and inspired to reach her potential and recognize her influence within her family and her world.
