Coffee hour

At 9 a.m., Aug.26, The Citizen, 12 South St., will host a coffee hour. The public is invited to attend and enjoy treats and conversation. Donations for OCEF will be accepted. Details: 248-627-4332.

Photo contest

From 5-6 p.m., on Aug. 19, Beets, Beats, and Eats will be hosting the fourth annual photo contest. Photo entries are encouraged and not required to be framed or matted. The preferred photo size is 8-by-10. Entry fees for participants 18 and older are $5 plus $2.50 for each additional entry, with a maximum of five entries allowed. Entrants age 17 and under are free.All subject matter and types of photography are encouraged. Amateur photographers only please. Road work

Ortonville- The resurfacing project for Varsity Drive, Pond Street, and James Street from James to Myron could begin as soon as Aug. 10 and may last up to two weeks.

Village officials ask residents to be prepared for traffic back-ups, and partial street closures. The paving of Pond Street could affect the entrance and exit of the post office but will not affect daily operations.

Board of Trustees, 7 p.m.,

Goodrich Village Council, 7 p.m.

Brandon Township Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. that will include public hearings on proposed special assessment districts for Legault and Upper Bushman.
