By every indication, the number of students attending classes both physically and virtually in Oxford Community Schools has increased.

Linda Lewis, the executive assistant for curriculum and district communication, said a “cursory review of the data indicates enrollment is up more than 200 FTEs (full time equivalent students),” in an e-mail to the Leader .

When this reporter sent questions to Lewis via e-mail seeking more detailed information, Lewis responded, “In the interest of providing accurate information, the district is releasing only the audited count. When it becomes available, you will receive a breakdown by school, including the virtual academy, as well as school of choice count.

“Official, audited numbers will be released on or about November 19,” she wrote in the e-mail.
