Sunday, October 30 - Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies from the Oxford Twp. substation responded to a breaking and entering at Goodwill Industries International (1500 S. Lapeer Rd.) The suspect(s) gained entry through a rear window at Oxford Mental Health Care/TTI, and upon entering, scaled the drywall leading into Goodwill. Items taken from Goodwill include the safe, which contained a large sum of money, a computer and surveillance equipment. The investigation is still ongoing. A cash reward is being offered for any information that could help lead to an arrest. If you have any information, contact the Oakland County Sheriff’s substation at (248) 969-3077.

Saturday, October 29 - Report of retail fraud at a business on S. Lapeer Rd. A 28-year-old female from Macomb Twp. was spotted by multiple witnesses attempting to steal a twin-size mattress. She allegedly took the mattress out the front door without paying, put it in her vehicle, and took off towards the back of the building at a high rate of speed. She damaged the front end of her vehicle when she drove off of the loading dock. She was issued a citation for retail fraud in the third degree, reckless driving and no proof of insurance. She was released and the mattress was returned to the store.

*Multi-vehicle accident occurred at Lapeer and Drahner Rd. A 57-year-old male Oxford resident, driving a 2006 Dodge Durango, was traveling north on Lapeer Rd. when he was struck in the front end by a 16-year-old female resident of Oxford, who was making a left onto S. Lapeer Rd. A third vehicle, driven by a 56-year-old male from Oxford, was in the left turn lane waiting for traffic to clear when struck by one of the vehicles.

*A village officer saw two flashlights on the lake near Bay Pointe Dr. It turned out two people were fishing. They told the officer they had verbal permission to be there, but the officer told them they needed written permission. The individuals were advised to leave.

Friday, October 28 - Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Drahner. The deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who said he was on his way home from hanging out with friends. The driver did not want to take PBT or field sobriety tests, so the deputy placed him under arrest for operating while intoxicated. The driver said he did not understand his chemical test rights when read to him, so the deputy transferred him to the Orion Twp. Substation. The driver was given citations for PBT refusal and speeding.

Wednesday, October 26 - A male and female were arguing on Crawford St. The male was on the hood of the car, while the female was trying to drive away with him yelling and screaming at her.

*Larceny reported on S. Washington. The individual said a lighting system for a plow was stolen.

*Suspicious male was reported on Pontiac St. Employees at the Oxford Library reported a suspicious man, who claimed to be a member of their cleaning company, was at their building before heading over to Oxford Elementary to check doors.

Tuesday, October 25 - The Oxford Fire Department and Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of a residential structure fire at an address in the 1000 block of Island Park Dr. OCSD fire investigators viewed the scene and ruled the cause of the fire as arson. According to reports, a 15-year old male allegedly began lighting the curtains on fire, but quickly put them out after they began to burn. When asked why he did it, the juvenile stated he did not know why he set them on fire. The juvenile was arrested and then released to his parents pending issuance of a juvenile petition.
