Daylight savings time ends

Daylight savings time ends at 2 a.m., Nov. 6. Set your clocks back one hour.

Senior Thanksgiving

Brandon Twp.- Volunteers are needed for assistance with the Annual Senior Citizens’ Thanksgiving Dinner planned for noon, Nov. 8 at the Brandon Middle School, 609 S. Ortonville Road.

The dinner is provided by the Brandon School District Food Service Department, but the district relies on the generosity of the community to provide support with door prize donations, table accessories, centerpieces, etc. A $1 donation is requested from each attendee to offset the cost of the event.

Brandon Boutique & Craft Show

From 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Nov. 12 at Brandon Fletcher Intermediate School, 300 South St., Ortonville, the Brandon Boutique and Craft Show will be held. Admission is $2 for those 12 years old and up. Details Brandon Township Parks and Recreations 248-627-4640.

Electronics wanted

From 10 a.m. 2 p.m., Nov. 12, Brandon Fletcher Intermediate School 300 South St. along with 5R Processors, Ltd. will be accepting any old or obsolete electronics equipment to properly dispose the electronics equipment at no cost.

Thanskgiving service

At 6 p.m., Nov. 20, the Lakeview Community Church, 10023 S. State Road, Goodrich willhost a community Thanksgiving service. All churches are invited to attend.


Ortonville- The Ortonville Community Emergency Fund food pantry needs volunteers and food donations for the annual Thanksgiving food sort and distribution, planned for Nov. 20-21.

OCEF provides food for families in need in the Brandon School District.

Donations of the following items are needed: cake mix and frosting; canned fruit; cereal; cranberry sauce; evaporated milk; Jell-O/pudding; peanut butter; jelly; gravy/broth; pasta; macaroni and cheese; stuffing mix; muffin/quick bread mix; canned soup; tuna; corn; green beans; other canned vegetables; toilet paper; and paper towels. Also requested are $15 Bueche’s gift cards, which can be used to purchase meat and other fresh items.

Donations can be dropped off at Bueche’s Food World, 400 N. Ortonville Road, at local businesses or schools with collection boxes, or at local churches, including St. Anne Church, 825 S. Ortonville Road.

Pastie sale

On Nov. 11 and 12 the Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 S. State Road, Goodrich will host a pastie sale. Pre-order pasties by Nov. 10 by calling 810-636-7222. Pick up times will be 1-4 p.m., Nov. 11 and 10 a.m.-noon, Nov. 12.
