Defenseman Adam Larkin led Icers on Saturday as they defeated Rochester United, 8-0. Larkin scored a hat trick to give the Wolves a boost.

"It is always good when a defenseman scores a hat trick," said Clarkston Boys Varsity Hockey Head Coach Bryan Krygier. "It was good to see Adam jump up in the play and pull the lead for us."

The boys finished the first period with five goals and scored three more in the second period. It activated the running clock and ended the game at the end of the period.

"We were mentally ready for the game," said Krygier. "We were ready to play. We had a good week in practice."

Adam Bruderick scored two goals and had an assist. Jacob Laporte, Josh Sowers and Gabe Comos scored one goal each. The boys made 35 shots on the net and Jack Viazanko had 20 saves for the night. The Wolves head to Farmington on Thursday.

"They are a good team," said Krygier. "They were struggling like we were and has a similar team. Whoever stays out of the penalty box and is mentally ready will win."

The boys host Stoney Creek on Saturday at Detroit Skate Club.

"If we are not ready to play it is not going to be a very good game for us," said Krygier.

The Wolves play at 8 p.m. against the Cougars. The Wolves improved their record 5-5-1, 2-0-1 in the OAA Red.
