Wolfpack Update

Skiers battled an odd winter and used it to their advantage as they won the state championship on Monday.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team scored 81 points, keeping ahead of Marquette and their 117 points, to make school history.

Derek VanItallie led the team, finishing fourth in the slalom and the giant slalom. More details to come in future editions.

After claiming the OAA Red title, the Lady Wolves continued their momentum by winning the first round of the MHSAA District playoffs on Monday, 48-27.

They move on to the next round against Fenton on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The championship is set for 7 p.m. on Friday. Both games are at Holly High School, 6161 East Holly Road.

Icers lost to Lake Orion on Saturday for the OAA Red Championship, 3-2.

They could have an opportunity to play them again as they take on Lake Orion or Lapeer in the MHSAA Pre-Regional game, Thursday, 7:30 p.m. at Detroit Skete Club.
