Parents, Teens and

Money Matters

Ortonville- “Parents, Teens, and Money Matters,” a financial workshop for tweens, teens, and their parents, is planned for 7 p.m.-8 p.m., March 7 at the Brandon Township Library, 304 South St.

The workshop is free and not a sales presentation. Sponsors are the Brandon Groveland Youth Assistance, the library, and the North Oakland Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

The workshop is designed as a venue for parents and teens to begin to discuss money and values so that teens can gain a better understanding of intentional choices and how to make good money decisions. Parents will get a workbook with some conversation starters and other resources. Each teen who attends will get a Cash Cache (an organizer and planner book with zipper compartments for money identified in each of four different categories: Share, Spend, Save, and Invest).
