It’s relay for life season and even Orion’s businesses are getting involved with the cause.

Hair Inn, located at 3753 S. Baldwin Road has committed to giving out haircuts to anyone who comes in on May 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cuts are 10 dollars and all proceeds are going to the Oxford Orion Relay for Life

“My mom bought the salon and about two years ago she was diagnosed with stage 4 colin cancer,” said Co-owner Melissa Lewis. “I decided to take over the business, got my license, and thats where we are. We’re basically honoring her memory and want to help with stopping cancer and the spread of it. It’s a good cause and it offers a way to give back to the community.”

Another local business, O’Haver’s Flavors is also contributing by selling grilled food in the parking lot outside the hair salon. They are also donating 100 percent of their proceeds.
