On May 10, the Oxford High School girls varsity soccer team lost to Clarkston. Final score was Clarkston 2 – Oxford 0.

Coach Larry Ferris describes the action as evenly matched until 16:51 in the first half when Clarkston scored its first goal.

Oxford held the Clarkston team scoreless the remainder of the first period, and went into the half down just one goal, Clarkston 1 Oxford 0.

Clarkston moved ahead by a second goal at 21:06 left in second, and then kept the Wildcats at bay the remainder of the match.

OHS keeper Darien Bandel had 15 saves in the game, with 6 in the first half and 9 in the second.

The same plight haunts the Wildcats this season, Ferris said. “Oxford is still hurting with a lot of injuries.”

Oxford moves now to a league record of 1-8-1 and an overall record of 5-11-1.
