Police say a woman who admitted to smoking crack cocaine is responsible for a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of M-24 and Drahner Rd. around 10:39 p.m. Friday, July 6.

A 52-year-old Oxford woman driving a 2002 Buick was in the process of making a left-turn off M-24 onto W. Drahner Rd. when the crash occurred.

She had a blinking yellow arrow and witnesses reported seeing her turn into the path of a southbound 1995 Oldsmobile driven by a 16-year-old Clarkston man, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report. The Oldsmobile had a green light.

The crash left the Buick laying in the roadway on its driver’s side.

Oxford firefighters had to remove the vehicle’s roof in order to extricate the woman.

The sheriff’s report indicated the woman admitted to firefighters she had been smoking crack. She was transported to McLaren Regional Medical Center in Pontiac and cited by deputies for failing to yield. The incident is still under investigation.
