Royal Troon Private Road SAD - Orion Township Board of Trustees voted in favor of establishing a special assessment district for the purpose of finishing the roads in Royal Troon Condos. (Sanhills, Burniah and Greenan). The next step in the process is to prepare a work plan and cost estimate.

Award bid to install fencing-On a 4-3 vote the township voted in favor for Motor City Fence Company to install 800 feet of salvaged 6 foot high chain-link fence at Wildwood Amphitheater at cost of $8,200 with understanding that any missing material will be additional costs. Funds will come from the Capital Improvement Fund.

Supervisor JoAnn Van Tassel said reason for the fence was due to repeated offenses of vandalism. Clerk Penny Shults and Trustees John Steimel and Mike Flood Jr. voted against the motion.

Kitchen items at Orion Center- The board approved on a 6-1 vote $6,372 worth of Kitchen items to be bought for the Orion Center. The items included racks, pans, and various utensils

Trustee John Steimel voted “no.” Steimel asked when the all the excess spending for the Orion Center will end. Community Programs Director Lisa Sokol said they needed the items in order to be able to perform wedding receptions that have already been booked.

Trustee Mike Flood, told Sokol to give the board a “wrap sheet” of all the items they still need with a final tally on it. Sokol said she aleady provided that to the previous and current supervisor.

Supervisor JoAnn Van Tassel disagreed and said Sokol only provided a sheet with listed material need for the building portion the Orion Center. Not all the extras.

Interlocal agreement - Orion Township Board supported the recommendation by Interim Fire Chief Robert Smith to join the Oakland County Fire Mutual Aid Association.
