A mother's wish

The second annual A Mother’s Wish 5K/10K Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Lake Orion High School.  Pictured is the organizing committee for this year’s event. The non-profit foundation serves the needs of local families struggling with the impact of breast cancer.  Last year’s inaugural event included 500 participants and raised more than $24,000.  So far this year, 27 women and their families have benefited from A Mother’s Wish, which has provided them with financial assistance, equipment needs, comfort items, groceries and other neccessities as they fight the disease.  The 2012 Master of Ceremonies is FOX 2 health reporter and Lake Orion resident Deena Centofanti.   To register, donate or for more information, visit amotherswishmichigan.com.
