Homeschool/virtual family support group

Oxford resident Juliana Rice is starting a support group for families in virtual schools and combinations of homeschooled and virtual programs.

“It has been my experience that nothing beats learning about a curriculum or program like talking to the real people who use it,” Rice said. “Not every program is great for everyone, but learning about the details, strengths and weaknesses and the true purpose of those programs can help those with questions, troubled hearts and seeking wisdom on what to do.”

Those needing an encouraging word or some answers and insight into the homeschool/virtual world can join Rice and other homeschooled/virtual school parents at Oxford Library meeting rooms on Friday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The briquettes can be utilized as early as the month of May and will be effective in eliminating mosquito larvae. Please read the back of the sealed package. These are to be given to our residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Please stop by the Treasurer’s Office at 300 Dunlap Road to pick up your mosquito briquettes.
