Preliminary Design Conceptual Engineering Plan RFP

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that proposals for a preliminary MDOT M-24 Left Turn Safety and Traffic Calming Project Plan for the Village of Oxford will be accepted in the Office of the Village Manager, 22 W. Burdick, Oxford, MI 48371, (248 - 628-2543) on or before Wednesday, September 4, at 2:00 p.m., 2013. The proposal should include the company and/or individual overall qualifications and experience, organizational structure, resumes of personnel to be assigned, local knowledge and references.

The RFP is for assisting in developing a concept plan for a MDOT M-24 Left Turn Safety and Traffic Calming Project from First Street to Minnetonka Street.

The conceptual plan is to provide alternative schemes for achieving the specific left turns based on input from the Village, while incorporating FHWA and other traffic calming techniques. The plan would include preliminary R.O.W. acquisition requirements, include proposed feeder drives at the rear of M-24 frontage properties as recommended and driveway closures or modifications to improve traffic safety and satisfy project objectives. The concept is to include the East alley and possible west alley access to consolidate left turn movements.

Upon completion assist in presenting a recommended concept plan to the Village Council, DDA, Planning Commission and MDOT staff for conceptual approval.
